I voted for Flamestrike. It can hit a lot of people at once and do some good damages, and if your team is packing more than one of these things, you really could bring some hurt down on the other side.

The other cards are good too, especially the Hand. I have always been a fan of the Hand. I have one-shotted many a full health mini with a Hand attack, so you know its power.

So far in playing 5v5, I've seen all those cards BUT Fear being used. No doubt it will make a frightful appearance soon.

Yeah I had to go with FS, too (and not just because I play a mage in WoW). If there is one card that will throw a wrench in just about every imaginable 5v5 team, it's flamestrike. With so many characters on the board, I'd argue that it would be harder to not hit 2 or 3 minis at once.

Not only is this an amazing card, but it can be played by arguably the best class in this game. Enaria, BLM, EFS (though not really a mage), Irana, Timbleton, Jezbella, Morganis, Ruby, Jaina, holy crap. These fat cats are good by themselves, give 'em flamestrike and watch out!

Strangely, I'd say the only downside to FS is what you have to give up to play it. FS means one less spot for a poly, IB, CS, flux, or MP. However, FS is almost always the right choice, especially in 5v5.

As posted below your post on the main page:

I voted for Flamestrike for one reason and one reason only:
During our 'test' 5v5 tournament in The Netherlands, I managed a 7 damage version of it versus Funky. It hit 3 mini's, killing 2 of them. That is a potential none of the other cards have. And in 5v5 the power of the card is even more because of adjancency teams etc.

Iceblock I feel is weak in 5v5 because a team has multiple counters against it without really taking in odd miniatures. Purge, dispel, stealth, counterspell and even spellsteal are just a few of the cards you can use against it. Not to mention that Flamestrike doesn't even allow it to trigger.

One thing I do feel though, 5 mage teams arent strong enough in this format still. They seem powerful and they probably are, but they can be outsmarted by playing outside the box of what your team normally expects. And no healing in this format is asking for some real problems and is another way of simply handing your opponent at least 20 VPs. Not to mention polymorphs will probably hurt you more than help you in this format, someone polymorphed next to the VP in ticks 5 or 10 is still 2 VPs for your enemy.. Not a great way to spend ticks..
