elemental charge and ice block

Post  BoDoM on Thu Apr 22, 2010 12:43 am

My question is probably simple. Does ice block negate an attack? Elemental charge says that your next attack can not be negated, redirected, or taunted. So if my EFS pops elemental charge and attacks my opponent's mage with furnace touch, can the mage ice block? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Yes, you can iceblock

You can iceblock. Iceblock does not negate, taunt or redirects the attack. It simply puts you into a status where you cannot be damaged.

Thanks a lot! Not the answer I was hoping for, but at least now I know!

Negating comes from something like Earth Shock or Counterspell... Redirect is like Grounding Totem, or Protector.

The only ways to stop Ice Block:

a) Stop the opponent from Reacting (Stealth, being Polymorphed since the poly'd character doesn't have abilities)

b) Make sure you're not triggering the React (Flamestrike and other AOEs do not target the character, they target spaces, and thus don't trigger Ice Block)

c) Removing it after the fact (Spellsteal, Purge, Mass Dispel)
