SerpentShrine Cavern bits and pieces

Another project I was working on was some encounters in SSC, I stat'd Trash mobs and a Leotheras the Blind bossfight which I tested once, I feel the fight needs tweaking to make it more interesting and fun for the Boss player, as I found it boring to play him.



COILFANG MYRMIDON (Usually encountered as a pair guarding pathways)
Sea Creature - Warrior
Armor - 4
Resist - 2
Health - 20

Myrmidons Axe
Ticks 4, Range 1, Damage(sword) 6
Crit:

Detector
Stealth does not work within 3 spaces of an enemy figure with detector

Action Bar Cards - Cleave, Execute.

COILFANG BEAST TAMER (Usually encountered with 2 sporebat pets and 2 Hate-screamers)
Sea Creature - Hunter
Armor - 3
Resist - 2
Health - 20

Melee
Ticks 3, Range 1, Damage(sword) 4
Crit: Make a Damage(sword)4 attack against another adjacent enemy.

Throw
Ticks 2, Range 2-4, Damage(sword) 3
Crit: +1 Damage

Bite

Crit: Refresh an Actionbar card

Taunt
If an adjacent enemy attacks, it MUST target a target with taunt if able to.

Action Bar Cards - Charge, Beastial fury.

Place a shatter marker on the target, Targets Armor is reduced by half (rounding down) and -1 attack. Remove the marker when the target is damaged.

Crit: Place a wound counter on the target, A figure with a wound counter cannot be healed.

Frenzy
When down to 9 or less health, Slash has -1 Tickcost, +1 Damage Dice and knocks back the target 1 space.

Place a Silence marker on every enemy within 2 spaces, they cannot play actionbar cards or attack with anything other than a (Sword) Attack whilst they have a silence marker. Remove the marker after they next activate.

Hits all adjacent enemies, Knock them back 1 space for each damage.
Crit: +1 damage

Serpentshrine Lurker
Elemental - Warrior
Armor - 3
Resist - 3
Health - 25

Pummel
Ticks 4, Range 1, Damage(sword) 6
Crit: +1 Damage and place a mushroom token on the targets space. At the end of ticks 5/10 deal 5 dice (Nature) damage to all adjacent enemies to the mushroom token then remove it.

Poisonbolt Volley
Ticks 4, Range 4, Damage(Nature) 3
Hits all enemies in range.
Crit: +1 Damage

I havent touched this even longer than the Pitlord fight, this needs tweaking to be put more in line with the Pitlords format which I felt was much more fun to play and play against.



BLOOD ELF FORM
HEALTH - 100 (Still undecided on total Health)
DEFENCE - 4
RESIST - 3

Mainhand Slash
Tick 3, range 1, damage 7
Crit: +1 Damage

Offhand Flurry
Tick 2, range 1, damage 4
Crit: Make another Offhand Flurry attack against an adjacent enemy
He has two attacks representing a heavier main hand, and a lighter offhand to give him options.

Ferocity - May move 1 extra space when moving.

Boss fight - Leotheras cannot be force moved or ticked up.

SPECIAL RULE FOR BLOODELF FORM: Whirlwind
Whirlwind is a special attack Leotheras uses in Belf form at certain times as shown on the Timetable below.
When Whirlwind begins, Leotheras no longer activates according to his clock time.
Moves d6 spaces in a random direction (roll a d6 on hexes or d8 on squares) - every figure he moves adjacent to or through takes a 6 dice attack, and if damaged they recieve a Bleed Marker that does 2 damage at the end of tick 5 / 10
Any figure that moves adjacent to Leotheras takes the above whirlwind attack.
Set his clock to 10 after the first whirlwind as a reminder of when the Whirlwind next activates.
When Whirlwind stops, he returns to activating normally.

DEMON FORM (Use Varimathras miniature - Paint it black if you have a spare)
HEALTH - Both forms share the total health and damage
DEFENCE - 3
RESIST - 4

CHAOS BLAST
Tick 4, Range Unlimited, Damage 7 (Fire)
AoE - Affects a random target and all adjacent enemies, only make one attack roll for all.
Place a Firedamage Marker on all affected, their resist drops by 1 against Fire damage attacks. Remove one Firedamage Marker from each figure every tick 5/10.
Crit: +1 Damage


Boss fight - Leotheras cannot be force moved or ticked up.

SPECIAL RULE FOR DEMON FORM: Insidious Whisper
When Insidious Whisper occurs on the Timetable, shuffle the character cards and draw one card for every full 5 characters participating in the Raid. (Regardless of how many are dead)
An Inner demon is spawned and placed adjacent or near as possible to each character who is picked.


SPECIAL RULE FOR BOTH FORMS: Seperation
When Leotheras's Health drops to 15 or less, leave it at 15 and then spawn in his alternate form adjacent to him or as close as possible.
Only use the Blood elf Timetable below but ignore transforming into Demon form since it will be on the map anyway, the demon form no longer summons Inner Demons and cannot be damaged.
Leotheras is defeated when you reduce his Bloodelf form to 0 Health.

Claw
Ticks 2, Range 1, Damage 3(melee)

Shadowbolt
Ticks 3, Range 3, Damage 5(shadow)

Arcane, Nature and Holy attacks roll 1 EXTRA dice damage
Shadow and Fire attacks roll 1 LESS dice damage
Inner demon - can only be damaged by the attached character
Mind Control - If the attached character cannot kill their inner demon when it despawns, that character is now under control of the Leotheras player.

Very interesting and defenetivly an awesome raid, it truly represents the dificulty of this raid. I'm thinking if the raid is going to be based for 10, 15, 20 or varying numbers, make health scale with it.

Also, there's no clarification of any aggro-reset or how it's measured. Other than that I think it's excelent work.

Again, this was another raid where I didnt consider Automation for the boss, hence no aggro rules.

If I were to redo this boss, Id prolly use a cardsystem like the Pitlords one, It would probably make it more fun for the boss player.
Id use cards like "Mainhand Slash" "Offhand Quickslash" "Whirlwind" as standards for the fight, and maybe some more colorful ones like "Double Cleave" just for some fun and variation

That does sound fine, resembling more of the MMO where the bosses tend to use most abilites at random, although there are a lot on a timer as well. I guess only testing and fine-tuning make perfect, right?
