Hey guys, there's a forum petition on the cryptozoic TCG Tournament and Organized Play forum to keep WOW minis around. People from here should sign up to those forums to post on the petition. Let Cryptozoic know that if they're listening, we care!

I put my "agreed" on their forum. I was post number 59 on the topic. Maybe after a week there will be a couple hundred. Maybe then we'll at least get an answer or see some results on the OP front. Maybe if that goes well someone will pick up the minis contract and we'll finally see a new set. Here's to hoping lol.

I just wanted to suggest that we all tell at least a few people about the petition post. If all of us that posted there so far told two or three of our friends it could nearly double the number of posts on the petition. I'm sure everyone thaught of this already, but it never hurts to just put it out there.

So I was thinking we might want to start another different petition. Assuming Blizzard owns the license, I wonder if we could push CZE to try and get the infoZ on any unreleased models. We know they had at least one full/complete set ready to release. If the game is dead, can we please get that info for fan run games? And we do this through CZE because they at least have a voice in Blizzards ear, whereas we are just noise to Blizzard.

Post on Cryptozoic petition topic Empty Well.....

Post  GypsyRogue Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:57 pm

I joined several months ago to voice my opinion on bringing back a game; of which I own a Complete set of everything that has been made, because I intended to make it a Big Thing in South Central Kentucky, where I'm workin' on opening an actual Brick & Mortar shop, over my eBay business. At 57, I've owned & played every Minis game I could find, since I was 17.

I think we've waited long enough for Someone Else to pick up Our game! I say it's time we start makin' some Noise everywhere we can about continuing the Game without other people's help. There are enough of Us interested in continuation, that we should be able to build our own company to continue the Game. Worst Case Scenario; Blizzaed tries to Sue me..... Or, They resume production of the finest Minis game ever produced. Let 'em Try!

One of my closest friends & business partners in other ventures; is now prominently involved in plastic injection molding & says we can produce Minis in my garage if need be. Temperatures for injection molding only need to be 150 degrees, recycled clear soda bottles that are airbrushed, seems to be the Norm for new D&D Minis. We have convinced another friend, whose an industrial tool & die maker to throw in with us, to start a new endeavor, although Mage Knight was the original incentive to produce my own line of Minis, They've convinced me that I should strike while the line is still newer than the one I was trying to resurrect. Their second point was that I could make temporary, throw away molds for the Mage Knight figures, because I wasn't going to advance the Line, just reproduce them with different base options included with the figures to let people paint & base them for different games.

They're right, I can do that later, after we fix the WoW Mini problem.

So, let's hear all thoughts, before I jump into it, I want to see what the Community wants as far as continuation of Your Game. I'm interested in continuing the Game, not making Money off of the people that play it. Might even be a Private Company with an internet outlet on a Worthy Website (hint, hint; Mr. Steelwing, Sir)(grin). I would love to involve all of you that can help me make new figures for the Game, & will gladly Credit & Compensate each of you for any help I can get. This needs to be a Project, For the People, By the People, to show that we will not be Overlooked!

Thanks for Your Time!

Game on!

I think that you are the man with the master plan! I support your effort wholeheartedly! If I can contribute my artistic skills in any way let me know! There are links to my repaints in the fan article section. Otherwise I am fairly knowledgeable in warcraft lore and mmo gameplay. I know it's not exactly a resume, but I'll help however I can.

Great initiative, I believe that's the way to go if we want to get attention from Blizz that players actually support this and its not all TCG. We're doing our pressure to CZE on the petition topic, so try adding your "signature" to it. Maybe there's still a chance out there.

Maybe you can contact Blizz and ask for the actual permission to do this, maybe like Meca that assumed Heroclix and son after wizkids came back to rebuy it.

I think contacting blizzard may be the way to go, but I wouldn't do so until you have some concept art. Sketches with different views and whatnot. Maybe just do some humans and elves first so no one is all up in arms about artistic license and crap like that. I wouldn't even name anything yet. I'm not sure if blizzard or UDE own the rights to the names and art on the older card sets, so while older cards may be an inspiration for new figures, names may have to be changed to protect the innocent lol.

Thanks for your input, I checked your ideas in the post that you PM'd me. I totally agree with your concepts, except for the Contact Blizzard part of the above post.

I don't care what they think. As far as I'm concerned, they've dropped the Ball. I'm gonna pick it up & run with it.

Being Old & Jaded(57), I've found that kissin' butt only costs me money. I'm not Payin' for something they've basically thrown away. If they hassle me, I will make changes to make my product that make it compatible with the Original system. My attorney tells me all I have to do is put a Disclaimer on Everything I make, that it's not a Blizzard Product, it's Compatible with the Original System.

It's not My fault they chose to take the course of action that they have & I won't be hindered by their actions, no matter what they throw at me. I feel that by contacting them, I would be saying it was OK to treat Us this way. They don't need My Money, they've already got a whole bunch of that, so I can be treated like an Unwanted Step-Child.

The Ubases suck & they didn't do anything to fix that, but you can bet they'd like to give me a hard time, so I'll purchase their Mess. I'm already into the Production phase of a Playmat that gives you a place to put the cards & easily workable counter spaces, that allow people to use the Ubase as a base, skipping the Twist-it,Pick-it-up,Put-it-back joke of a Base that we have now.

Not gonna happen, I don't need them, if they're not gonna act right. Neither do Any of You.

This is the Consideration You got for spending your hard-earned money to support a Gaming System that seems to have disappeared.

I hope that all the Noise I'm makin' will Wake Them Up, but I doubt it. I'd love to Shut Up & Go Away, if They want to continue the line. But, I've given up havin' any Faith in that.

So, you need to decide if you're gonna set in the weeds & watch; or, are you ready to show them how we feel about putting out $1000 for a game system that's obviously Dead in the Water.

The Choice is Yours.....

I'll step down off of my Podium now , & reappear with more of my intentions after I study your Ideas more carefully.

I'm not tryin' to give anyone here a Hard Time, if it wasn't for all of You & Mr. Steelwing, I feel that We'd all be a Memory. I'm not going to Accept the Hand we've been Dealt.

Are You???

I like the disclaimer idea. I really like the places to put cards on the playmat. It never fails for me, I'll be playing a game and my daughter will crawl up and pull down some cards, usually face down that get revealed to my opponent lol. What would you do in the case of zomm hopeslayer? Just put 9 ABC slots on both sides of the board?

Actually I've tried to make room to stack cards in two piles, besides the character card, with the counter spaces being on the edge. As soon as I get some back from the Printer(they're printed on card stock), I'm going to Laminate each one & then I'll Post Pictures, but I can't, due to copyright infringements that could be started by giving someone else the opportubity to make some too.

Hopefully, I'll be able to produce these cheap enough to sell them for $1 each w/free shipping. If you make a WoW purchase from me, one will be included free with each figure purchased.

I stated earlier that I wasn't interested in making money from my sales, I'll do that in my own line that will include different bases with that line, so you can paint the figure for your purpose & have the ability to play D&D, heroScape, or Mage Knight, depending on your base choice. How can I do this you ask? Simple, you get a clear blister pack with an unpainted figure & multiple bases. You'll also be able to download a card template for whichever game you need with the ability to put an actual photo of your painted figure. I will not charge for this service & I'm trying to make my regular sized figures retail for $1.99 each. No Blind Purchases, the ability to make your very own characters for which ever games you decide to use them. I've been at this for almost a year, we were gonna start with Mage Knight figures, but then Blizzard dropped the Ball.

That sounds like an interesting, well thought out strategy. Is that to say that if you continued the wowminis line you would also pack them in blister packs? I tend to enjoy the collectible aspect of the game and I think if we lost that, it would start to become unbalanced. It would be like what happened with the new D&D minis. Everyone buys up the good ones and then there are shelves full of the less desirable minis collecting dust just waiting to be clearance priced lol. I'm open to new things for the game, but i'm hesitant about some of them as well.

Well, how about the fact that it took me a couple of hundred Boosters to produce a couple of sets of figures, & I finally gave up & got the ones I couldn't find; off of eBay, rather than play Russian-Roullette Booster Tag any more?

I've probably got at least 500 singles in plastic bags, that are worth $1 each on eBay; does that sound like a good plan to you? Even if Blizzard continued the line, I'd get back about $500 for what cost $1500, because I couldn't see what I was buying. I might as well give them to the local Goodwill. That's Exactly why I'm gonna do clear plastic packaging. I'm also going to make small runs of product & adjust my production according to what I sell.

I did not say that I was going to Mass Market the line, that's another problem with Blind purchases, they make X-amount & that's it. They expect us to Blindly buy everything they have before they get someone to make another $0.25 worth of plastic into $15.00 Boosters, so we can fight for figures; while they laugh & count Our money in their bank account.

Once again, Mage Knight was the original Culprit, as far as we're concerned, & cases upon cases of Unopened stock remain so prominent that eBay is still flooded with the result of WizKids Blunder. As long as the Dudes with all Our money can get by with this type of practice, they will.

As previously stated, I'm not in this to make money, I'm into it to make people happy after they've spent the Time & Money on Goods; only to have the Keepers of the Game say,"Ooops, we just can't do this anymore, Sorry. See Ya." Did they offer to reimburse you for their mistakes? Do you seriously believe that people are gonna be Put-Off with My product because they can see what they're buying? I think not & am willing to take the Gamble.

My intentions are to produce smaller runs, distributed on a very small scale so that people may acquire what they need. If you were to Contact me & explain that you needed something that you can't find, I'd make it a point to get you what you need, not force you to spend ridiculous amounts of money to finish your set.

My philosophies are clearly stated on My website. I started my business to Serve the People, I already spent Tons of money to acquire everything I needed to complete sets of all my listed products. I wanted to see what it takes to do so. Not only do I have about 10,000 various Minis in stock, but about 15,000 WoW TCG carrds left over from my experiment; all Left-overs from Blind Purchase.

Henceforth, My Dedication to Selling what people need to play the Games & have Fun doing so. Is that such a Bad Place to be? Games are supposed to be Fun, which should include being able to field any/all the figures you need to enjoy your leisure time.

Maybe, some day, for my actions I'll be known as St. Gypsy, the Dude that helped fix the idea that St. Gygax invented. He & I can sit on a cloud & converse about all the Fine things He did for Our Addiction. I love you

I see your point lol. I've spent tons of money myself on the game, hence why I have all this repaint material lol. I checked out your website. Unfortunately my only internet is on my phone right now, so I couldn't seem to locate a list of the minis you had in stock. Is there a list if I access it from a PC? I only need 2 minis to complete my collection and I will not be purchasing boosters to acquire them lol.

Well well, it seems to have been a busy weekend with comments comming back and forth. It seems that some of the previously active posters have gone away, thinking that no-one whould retake this. I think mods or the admin could send a mass-message to all members so that they come forward and have at least a starting group so that this project can slowly become great.

As far as Blizzard goes, it was a suggestion, but I feel you have a strong case against it, so I change my statement to just say...you go dude!! I've already replied on your comments and will try to expand all examples today, hehe.

Fianally, remember to bring onyxia forward, raids in this game have proven to be excelent, as they are much more fast-paced than TCG and would love to spend some time on a well structured raid. Maybe you can even take the previous dungeons and have a raid package where the minis for all previous raids are set and you can easily play all 4 of them.

Keep up the wgood work.

Sorry, I'm runnin' behind on things this mornin', maybe I can get back in a little while.

I'm truly glad it didn't take much persuading to get you to see my point. Laughing

I'll be happy if they Sue me because they're continuing the Line, but if they don't; I runnin' with the Ball. Twisted Evil

We've all waited patiently, Long Enough.

New thought; I'd gladly share thoughts & Production quantities & figure production; i.e.; everything we need to do; with all of you as a Whole.

If we can get Mr. Steelwing involved; to Chair a Committee; so we have a Person with some Clout as our spokesperson; We could Rock the entire Mini World by making the Statement, "We Will Not Be Overlooked!" Razz

I'm don't care about being the Spokesperson/King of WoW Minis; I care about making it work.

Gotta Go!

I think that ceipe definitely has a point about producing some PVE content when this thing gets off the ground. I'm a huge proponent of the PVE aspect of the game, but the lack of product support was a big disappointment (among other big disappointments lol).

This is totally in a different direction, but imagine a warhammer style war of the ancients. That would be intense lol.
