News Wowminis
So, in the middle of May, I may have some news. Three choices: Nothing, Something or Not sure. I'll let you know what I'll get.

thanks for the heads up man!
hopefully the news will be good, but conversely closure would not be bad either.
i still remain among the most hopeful of the hopeful however. i still play and i know there's some others around here who do as well.

Well
Well, here's the partial information I have received. I will receive more concrete info around the middle of May.
As of right now, it appears that Blizzard has no interest in relaunching a minis game.
However, on Cryptozoic's side, they, from I've gathered, have taken a look at it. They have mentioned that if they would have relaunched the game, they would've made a better Ubase. It would've been slightly more expensive, but the Ubase would have been much better and it would've worked as intended. The fact is, they cannot use UDE's base since UDE owns the copyright on them. But, to put forward the idea of redoing the Ubase and making it better than the previous one, is positive in a way. It means they have looked at the minis from a certain perspective.
With that said, and not wanting to crush anybody's expectations, as long as the American economy remains stalled and the price of the oil barrel remains in fluctutation, I do not think companies will venture in the minis market anytime soon.
I will forward all the information I receive in the middle of May, as soon as it's available. Take care guys and enjoy!

News
Well I have received news from my sources.
And without wanting to rain down on anyone's parade, here is the status:
As it stands out, there are currently no plans to relaunch Wow Minis. Blizzard holds the license for Wow Minis and from what I've gathered and the tidbits I received left and right, it is them who currently have no interest in relaunching the game. Cryptozoic would put every effort to make it successful if Blizzard gave the green light, but that will not be happening. Not for 2011 in any case.
Maybe something will show up for 2012, but do not keep your hopes up. I am sorry if I am the bearer of bad news, but any kind of news is better than no news imho.

Re: News Wowminis
Thank you mate, indeed having any news at all is better than nothing, however your news are good news disuguised. From what you've gathered we can almost confirm that it's Blizzard who owns the Minis license and not UDE as it was originally thought. I guess Blizz is a looking towards their future games (D3 and SC2: Heart of Swarm) rather than use the cash cow any further, too bad, but oh well.

Confirm
I confirm that they do have the license for the game. The only license they do not have, is for the Ubase which belongs to UDE.
