Why I hate Warcraft miniatures

Hello, I’m new to the site, and before anything, i would like to congratulate you all on tyour amazing job. The site is great, I love it.

But what I don't love so much (and at the same time love it) is the WOW minis game,
The engine works fine for me, so no complaints there.

What really makes throw up in this (could be amazing) game, are the miniatures.
Not the sculpts, not the paint jobs, but their theme.

I know it can be said that they (UPD) where planning it for later, but... where's Arthas, The Lich King???!!!
Why is Prince Kael'thas so big (as in size) when compared to let's say Thrall???!!!
Why is it that the dwarf hunter (Grumpherys) looks more like a mountain king than an hunter???!!!
Beren Embersbane... my god what were you thinking UPD???!!! he sucks, the sword, the shield, the mask, he is awful... i mean Drokkar of the four boars could pass for an aliance warrior (heavy armor on an Orc...) better than this guy
Why is it that the only troll that reminds me of a real troll is the Frostmane Troll???!!! (Have you checked Za'zu the Grizzled?!, is he the offspring of a Troll with a red dragon or something?!)

The list continues, but my two biggest complaints:
Where is a simple Paladin carrying his 2handed Hammer and the book?
Where’s the old mage that looks like Gandalf or something?



... UPD, tell us the truth, have any of you ever played Warcraft 3 or World of Warcraft for that matter?

hey man,
welcome to the forums. i definitely agree with your points on the scaling issue. how can thrall be smaller than all the other orcs? except haruka, but that goes to show that females in general are not scaled corectly in the minis game. i guess it has something to do with the fact that there is more than one individual actually sculpting them, but who knows.

anyhow, anything you might need just let us know and we'll help how we can.

Welcome guy! There are many cool characters like what you are expecting, they just haven't been produced for the game is stopped. They had saved Lick King, Illidan for the big bangs in later set.

I don't know why but I do like Beren figure, may be because he looks like an orc

Welcome. From what I saw of set three, that was going to be addressed. Alas, we may never see that in reality now, but I know there were talks of multi hex characters being available for larger models.

Arthas was planned, just never came to fruition.

Anyhow, there is still a great community here of people who love the game and are continually creative when it comes to supporting it.

some of us even hold out hope for a revival... much like Browncoats

Here's some answers: Grumpherys is wearing vanilla wow's(lvl 60) mail pvp armor: http://www.wowwiki.com/Field_Marshal%27s_Pursuit
Beren embersbane is wearing armorset, which is first tier warrior dungeon set in vanilla wow: http://www.wowwiki.com/Battlegear_of_Might
zazu the grizzled is wearing tier 2 dungeon set : http://www.wowwiki.com/Dragonstalker_Armor

so the reason for their appearance is that all the items(armor, weapons etc.) you see on the models exists in wow mmo, which I actually think is cool thing about the models. I admit there are some bad sculpts(like lady Jaina Proudmoore) but definately also some jewels among them.

I was actually going to list every item on every model in the game for repainters and modellers to use as reference, but never got that started. :/

I haven't been here much lately, but try to correct that soon, so welcome from me as well

i miss the so called "vanilla" days of wow almost as much as i miss the miniatures game lol.
